Do Citizen watches need batteries?
Yes, quartz Citizen watches use batteries and will need to have them replaced when they run out. Depending on the model of your watch, you might have rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries. If you need help changing the batteries, consult our watch care guide.
Citizen watches contain a rechargeable battery that is powered by sustainable solar technology. These batteries do not need to be replaced but they do need to be recharged when power is running low. You can perform a full recharge by pulling the crown out until you hear two clicks and leaving your watch in direct light for four to five days. It's advised that you do this every eight to 12 months to ensure optimum performance.
