G-Shock watches are water-resistant up to depths of 200m and can handle being in saltwater just fine. Depending on the model, you can use your G-Shock watch in the ocean, but you need to wash your timepiece properly after exposure. Saltwater can cause corrosion on the metal of your watch if it isn't rinsed away.
